Amanda Lampert Wins third event this year

Kim White, Curtis (GM-Houston) and Amanda Lampert

The only lady to make a bigger splash than these ladies moving into Houston for the ninth stop of the Fast Eddie's Olhausen 9 Ball Tour sponsored by Schuler Legacy Cues was named Katrina. The field was small but was packed with talent.

Top picks were Kim White, Amanda Lampert and Helen Hayes. Also, a big welcome to the Tour for Cathy Naes and Courtney Peters.

The 4th place position was earned by newcomer Courtney Peters playing out of Legends Billiards in Houston. Her tremendous break and presence at the table helped earn her a high finish. Great shooting!

Another newbie to the Tour, Cathy Naes of Killeen, showed a lot of heart by battling her way through the one loss side after a first round loss to Terry Petrosino with victories over Tasha Salandanan, 5-0, Natalie Mans, 5-4, Helen Hayes, 5-4 and Courtney Peters, 5-3, before ending her run at the hands of Kim White in the finals of the one loss side, 5-0. Cathy finished in a very nice 3rd place finish for her first showing on the Tour.

Amanda Lampert, the Tour's lady point leader, fought her way to the hot seat with wins over Courtney Peters, 7-2, Tasha Salandanan, 7-3, and Debbie Sharp, 7-1. In the finals of the winner's bracket, Amanda had Kim White down 6-1, only to have Kim come back and tie it up, 6-6. In the final game, Kim left herself with a thin cut on the eight near the end rail with the nine on the opposite end rail. She made the eight but caught a little too much angle and scratched in the corner, giving Amanda the set and the hot seat.

Kim White of Houston began her trek with wins over Natalie Mans, 7-1, Michelle Abernathy, 7-4, and Helen Hayes, 7-3, before being sent the finals of the one loss side by Amanda. From there, Kim defeated Cathy Naes, 5-0, to once again meet Amanda in the final match.

Tied at 4-4 in the first set, Kim went to work and captured the first set, 7-4. The second set was a little different, as Amanda dominated the set by a score of 7-1 to win her third championship of the year.
