Bayaua Breaks In

This past weekend the Poison by Predator Tour held its final 9-ball stop of 2012 at Bogies Billiards & Sports Bar in Houston, Texas. The $1,000 added, one day tournament drew a field of 45 which included Blaine Barcus, Danny Lee, Bobby Pacheco, Nick Hood, Sonny Bosshamer, Chuck Adams, and many more.  The final 8 on the winners’ side included Danny Lee v. Randy Corpuz (Corpus Christi), Ernesto Bayaua V. Dalton Riley, Sonny Demetro v. Bill Fuller, and Daniel Coffman (Corpus Christi) v. Raul Escobedo. On the one-loss side, Raymond Cardenas lost 6-4 to Victor Rojas, and John Newsome inched by Blaine Barcus 6-5. It was Will Felder over William “Yoko” Joe 6-3 and Bobby Pacheco (Pasadena) over Pablo Hernandez, 6-5.  Back east, it was Lee over Corpuz  6-2 and Bayaua ousted Riley  6-4. Fuller lost to Demetro 6-4 and Escobedo sent Coffman west, 6-1.  Bayaua was playing solid, sending Lee west 6-2, as was Demetro, who shut out Escobedo 6-0. As the left side progressed, Rojas was terminated by Fuller and Newsome by Coffman. It was Corpuz over Felder 6-3 and Pacheco over Riley 6-5. Fuller ousted Coffman 6-0 and Pacheco eliminated Corpuz 6-2. Fuller beat Lee and Pacheco defeated Escobedo to meet one other in the final two on the one-loss side. Pacheco plowed through Fuller 6-2, and gained his third-round loss vengeance on Demetro, eliminating him 6-5. In the finals, Pacheco came on the strong, winning his eighth consecutive match, against Bayaua, 6-2. With the finals in overtime, it was Bayaua’s turn to answer back, and he did. Rock-steady, he claimed a 6-0 victory over Pacheco, capturing his first Poison by Predator Tour event win.

Congratulations to Teresa Garland who earned $120 for top lady and Michael Fain who earned $30 for top Junior.
