Chinese-Taipei Serious in it’s Effort to Snatch The WTBC Trophy; Bautista First Pinoy Qualifier

CHINESE-TAIPEI is serious in its effort to snatch the World 10-Ball Championship trophy after winning three of the four spots in the on-going World Ten-Ball Championship qualification tournament at the famous Star Billiards Center, No.46 Joy Street in Grace Village, Quezon City.
 
Kuo-pin Wang is the third Taiwanese qualifier after topping the Qualifier 4 late Wednesday.  He bested compatriot Hui-chan Lu, 9-7, in an all Taiwanese final to join countryman Pei-Wei Chang and Yu-lung Chang, who both coasted into the 128-field main event to be held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) from September 29 to October 5.
 
Arnel Bautista, playing under the banner of Magi stable and a relative unknown in the pool world is the first Pinoy qualifier after winning Qualifier 3 on Wednesday.
 
The 37-year-old Barobo, Surigao del Sur native crushed Taiwanese Hu-ming Chu, 9-3, in the final.
 
Bautista, earlier beat Victor Arpilleda, 7-1, Booe Uyji, 7-4, Hsun-cheng Lu, 7-6, and Chun-Nan Kuo, 7-4, before crushing Hung ming, in this single knock-out affair, organized by Raya Sports in close cooperation with Star Billiards Center, Philippine Billiards Foundation and the Billiards and Snooker Congress of the Philippines (BSCP), the sole governing billiards body in the country.
