Crosby gets SE Open Tour Revenge

Tony 'The Sniper' Crosby

The SE Open 9-Ball Tour brought 32 players to Veterans Billiards in Port Charlotte, Fl for a one day event on Sunday.

The hot-seat was won by tour director Tommy Kennedy, who defeated Tony Crosby 7-3. Crosby then defeated Willie McBride on the one-loss side to set the rematch with Kennedy in the finals.

The final match was not only a rematch from the hot-seat match, but also a rematch from the finals at Stix N Stones in West Palm Beach, FL last january. The match in January saw Kennedy cruise to an early lead and then hold on for the victory. This match started out the same way with Kennedy cruising to a 10-6 lead in the race to eleven. This time, the victory was not meant to be at Crosby sat Kennedy down and won the next five straight games to pull out the 11-10 victory and first place in the tournament.

Crosby collected $620 for first, while Kennedy took home $450 for second. McBride and Steve Knoll filled out the top four spots winning $350 and $200 each.

The $50 award for top female player was split by Terri Kelley and Shelly Harrison and the $50 top junior award was split by Brandon Cooke and Trey Jankowski.

Kennedy expressed special thanks to the room owners at Veterans Billiards as well as Tim Kring with Chalk Up Inc who helped sponsor the event.

The SE Open 9-Ball Tour will be at On Cue Sports Bar in Greenville, NC on May 1st and 2nd for their next event.
