Comet Billiards was where 31 players made the trip to play in the 9th stop of the Hampton Ridge 9 Ball Tour. I want to thank Bill Haley for hosting the event.
Leading the way on the winners side was Pat McNally with wins over Ryan Duttkin 7-3, Jarred Garzon 7-0, John Matres 7-3 and Lee Holt 7-5. Playing for the hot seat it was Pat McNally Vs Carmen Lombardo, this was a one sided match with Pat McNally running away with it 7-2.
The big story was Dennis Spears. After losing his first match to Joey Landi 7-6, Dennis went on a run with wins over Dinko Basanich 7-5, Richard Dotta 7-4, William Marulanda 7-5, Matt Krah 7-5 Gary Barnish 7-5, Lee Holt 7-4, Eddie Abraham 7-5 and Carmen Lombardo 7-4. With the win over Carmen Lombardo, Spears found himself in the finals against Pat McNally.
In the finals, Spears jumped to a 4-0 lead then McNally won the next 3 games making the score 4-3. Spears won the next game making the score 5-3, but McNally won the next 3 games making the score 6-5 McNally. Spears and McNally went back and forth for the next 4 games, to leave the match tied at 8. After a rough start, Spears pulled it out winning the match 9-8.
