Fields Doubles Up, Aguzin Tops Seniors at Ozone US Amateur Open

New Iberia,Louisiana -  The 2012 Ozone Billiards US Amateur Open Ladies Divisions were both won by Florida's Chris Fields. The Seniors 9-Ball Open was won by Joey Aguzin. This marked also the first time the ladies and men's open were both swept by the same two winners in both 8-Ball and 9-Ball disciplines when Jimmy "SuperFly" Majors also swept the Men's Open. The events took place at Emerald Billiards in New Iberia, Louisiana. The Ozone Billiards US Amateur Open was produced by Dragon Promotions and coincided with The Championship Cloth Pro Classic events. This 7th installment of this amateur extravaganza featured 7 total tournaments in 9-Ball and 8-Ball disciplines, with divisions in Open, Women, Seniors, Mixed Doubles and the Open 9-Ball  which allows all players of any level to play. The events were sponsored by Predator, Pool & Billiard Magazine, Aramith Balls, and Emerald Billiards.

Fields long trek from Florida didn't go unrewarded. She started the event on the 8-Ball ladies side, where she came back from the loser's side and defeated defending champion Ashley Kline in back to back double hill thrillers, 4-3, 3-2.  She then entered the 9-Ball ladies event and again defeated Kline to go undefeated this time in the finals. She then entered the Mixed Doubles with her partner Hunter Lombardo. They went undefeated but were defeated twice in the finals by Brittany Bordeaux and Evan Lundy of Michigan.

50+ and up Joey Aguzin went undefeated to win the 9-Ball Seniors division. The 8-Ball was won earlier in the week by Mickey Elesterion. All the amateurs joined the champions circle with pro winners including Shane Van Boening of South Dakota and Ronnie Alcano of the Philippines.  Follow the Ozone Billiards US Amateur Open on Facebook at www.facebook.com/usamateuropen
