Kevin Guimond and Jeremy Sossei split the winnings and shared the title on the East Coast Pool Tour stop on Saturday, April 24. A small field of 10 entrants was on hand for the $580 total purse event, hosted by Shooters Billiards in Southington, CT.
Guimond got into the hot seat after defeating Sal Bevilacqua 9-7 among the winners' side final four, and then besting Karl Bertelson 9-5. Bertelson had defeated Jeff St. Onge 5-4.
On the one-loss side, Sossei was awarded a Bye and then defeated Christian Cabrera 10-8 to meet Bevilacqua. St. Onge was met by Bob Tausek ,who'd defeated Ronnie Jackson 5-3 and Lou Ferrara in a double hill battle. It was Sossei versus St. Onge in the quarterfinals, after Sossei had chalked up a 10-8 win over Bevilacqua and St. Onge had gotten by Tausek 5-3. In the hill-hill match that followed, Sossei dropped St. Onge into fourth place and advanced to the first money slot – the semifinals.
In the final match of the event, Sossei defeated Bertelson 10-5. Sossei and Guimond opted to split the winnings and share the event victory.
