Hohmann rules Planet 9-Ball at Florida Pro Tour Stop

The Seminole Florida Pro Tour was in action at Planet 9-Ball in Tampa Florida with a full field of 64 players. The usual assortment of top 9-ball talent was in attendance at this one, but in the end it was German talent Thorsten Hohmann who was in the states for the upcoming Challenge of Champions that earned the victory.

Hohmann took the hot-seat with a convincing 9-3 win over Tommy "Gun" Kennedy. Meanwhile on the one loss side, Charlie 'Hillbilly' Bryant was scoring an equally convincing 9-2 win over David Broxson.

The semi-final match between Kennedy and Bryant went to hill-hill when Kennedy got out of line on a 7-ball in the final game. Forced to go for a cross-side bank on the 7-ball, Kennedy came through with the shot and went on to pocket the final 9-ball.

Hohmann took the early lead in the final match and had a chance to go up 10-5 but miscued on a shot. This allowed Kennedy to get back to 9-6. Kennedy fought hard to get back into the match, but in the end it was Hohmann with a 13-11 win.

Hohmann collected $3500 for first place, while Kennedy settled for $2000 in prize money. Bryant and Broxson filled out the top four spots.

The Seminole Florida Pro Tour will be at The Tap in Gainsville Florida on September 18th - 19th for their next event.
