Jerry Lazzareschi Wins Stop #7 of the Mezz LA 9 Ball Series

Stop #7 of the Mezz LA 9 Ball Series opened up to a tough field of SoCal pool players, with Jerry Lazzareschi (630) taking down his first tournament win in the series! Jerry defeated James Combo Harris (599) hill-hill to capture the hot seat, and met Beau Runningen (736) in the final. Both players decided to split the cash winnings, with Jerry taking the title and the points for first place (points cannot be split).

Jerry started his run through the field against Terrence Lee (575), followed by wins against David Newcomb (581), Michael Hansen (530) and Beau Runningen (736), before defeating James in a close match to capture the hot seat.

Beau had a strong showing this event as well, defeating Doug Byrd (578), Jeff Schaum (490), and Abet Ng (458) before being sent to the one-loss side by Jerry, where he defeated Nicaragua’s Jose G Centeno (579) and Abet again to secure a split with Jerry to end the night early.

Several new players have joined the series: Abet Ng, Jeff Schaum, and Tommy Woodland. New members are joining weekly and the member base is now over 120 players! We have 4 more regular season monthly tournaments for players to put up points, along with 3 Weeklies tournaments. There is still plenty of time to get on the Leaderboard and qualify in the Top 32 or 64!

Stop #8 is Sunday August 6th, and will go on sale online July 9th at 9am PST. Note that entries will be sold online only.

Lastly, there are now 3 Weeklies tournaments that you can play in on a weekly basis to get those points in! Monday nights at Good Times Billiards, Thursday nights at Gladi8or Pizza and Billiards, and Saturday nights at Good Times Billiards. These events pay out less in cash and points, but are a great way to boost your standings on the Leaderboard! More Weeklies tournaments will be coming in the coming months.
