Matt Krah wins Hampton Ridge Stop

Lee Holt and Matt Krah

Hampton Ridge 9-Ball tour 6th stop was held in Allentown PA at Blvd Billiards where a tough field made for great matches. Again the field was lead by Josh Brothers, the points leader, who beat Rich Brzozowski 7-3, Joe Scott 7-2 and Hank Nguyen 7-4 before he met up with Lee Holt. Holt was riding high with wins over Rich Larossa, Paul Libois and Corey Kappen 7-6. Holt won the match with Brothers 7-5 to send him to the one loss side.

Holt didn't stop there. He went on to defeat Matt Krah 7-0 for the hot-seat.

The fight for 5th and 6th were good matches. On the top half of the bracket, it was Joey Landi vs Josh Brothers and the match went back and forth until the 11th rack when Landi failed to run out with ball in hand giving Josh the run out and the next break. Josh won the match 7-5. On the lower half of the field it was between Bret Stottlemyer and Phil Sherman, Brett was having one of those days where nothing really goes your way and Phil jumped on him early and ran away with it 7-4.

The fight for 4th was a great match between Josh Brothers and Phil Sherman. This match went back and forth with Josh up 6-4 and Phil fighting his way back to hill-hill where Josh had a little bit of luck breaking in the nine ball for the win.

The fight for 3rd was against Josh Brothers and Matt Krah, from the beginning it looked like Josh had the match in complete control but mistakes in the last three racks allowed Krah to defeat his friend and move on to the finals to take on Holt.

This time things were a little bit different. The match started off with Lee winning the first game, then Matt exploded winning the next 7 games. Matt was in a zone and Lee won only one more game before Matt put him away. The win gave Matt his first win of the tour.
