Richard Bideaux wins All American Tour Stop 2

The second stop of the 2005/2006 McDermott All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance - ACS) hosted forty (40) players at Whitey's Billiards in Burlington, Iowa, on Saturday, November 5. Each tour stop has the flexibility to handicap or not handicap its event, and host Whitey Walker (along with most of the Midwest Tour stop proprietors) used a regionally-recognized handicap that ranked high Master-caliber players at "6", lower Master-caliber players at "5" and Open-caliber players at "4" and below. The event featured double-elimination 8-ball on bar boxes, and Moline, Illinois resident, Richard Bideaux (rated a "5"), sailed undefeated through the field. In the hot-seat match, Richard eclipsed Quincy, Illinois's Mike Ryan (5) 5-3. In the consolation finals, Mike was eliminated by Cedar Rapids, Iowa's "Pun" (4). The title match was no-contest, as Bideaux won the championship over "Pun" by an emphatic 5-0 margin.

Richard Bideaux was the highest-finishing ACS member as well, qualifying him for a free entry into either the 2006 ACS National 8-Ball Championships or the 2006 ACS National 9-Ball Championships - courtesy of the ACS. Elite players Whitey Walker and Chad Vilmont, both rated "6", failed to finish in the money. The ACS wishes to thank sponsors McDermott Handcrafted Cues, Silver Cup Chalk and PJ's Billiard Supply Co. for their support in donating "Value-In-Kind" product for this and all stops on the McDermott All American Tour. Sponsorship opportunities are still available by contacting the ACS.

The next Tour stop will be a one-day $500 added 9-Ball tournament at Leisure Time in Sterling, Illinois, on Sunday, November 20. For onsite entry details, call host Jim LaFavre at 815/625-8279.
