Locals dominate Joss Tour Albany Stop

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour was back in action over the weekend with a field of 48 players at Golden Cue Billiards in Albany, NY. While the field contained the usual assortment of top players such as Keith McCready, Danny Hewitt, Mike Zuglan and Tony Ruberto, it was a group of local stars that dominated the event.

On the winners side, it was local room owner Dave Pinkston taking the hot seat with a dominating 9-4 win over Jeff Smolen, another local player.

On the one loss side, Smolen ran into another local star Chance Chin. Chin was making his way through the one loss side after a loss to Tony Ruberto. Chin already had back to back 9-7 wins over McCready and Dave Fernandez and wasted no time scoring a 9-2 win over Smolen to earn his place in the finals.

As dominating as Chin was in the match against Smolen, it wasn't even close to enough to stop Pinkston who cruised to a 9-3 win in the finals.

Pinkston, the owner of Gallery Billiards in nearby Newburgh, took home $1640 for the win, while Chin settled for $1200. Smolen and McCready filled out the top four spots.

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Comet Billiards in Parsippany NJ next week for a $2000 added event.
