On the one-loss side, Ansari moved over to face Paul McCaffery, who'd defeated Chris Cruz and Oscar Dominguez , both 7-5. Dominguez' first stop on his trip back to the finals began with Santos Sambojon, who'd gotten by Joe Palley 7-2 and Doug Whaley 7-3 to reach him.
