Melissa Little, better known at “The Viper” is a two-time Colorado State Champion, Amateur National Champion, and has represented the USA in Three World Championships. Melissa is a touring pro with the Woman's Professional Billiards Association. The Viper is also the house pro and sponsored by The Wynkoop Brewing Company located at 1634 18th Street, Denver, CO.
Melissa has organized a local juniors billiard program to teach young kids the basics of pool and conduct tournaments for the young competitors. Melissa is currently donating her time to teach over 100 kids in the metro area. “You can learn so much about life from a game of pool; respect, dignity, interpersonal skills, goal setting, basic and advanced mathematical skills. Pool can literally keep kids off the streets!”
Melissa and her sponsors have joined together to promote the sport of billiards by offering young kids clinics, leagues, exhibitions, and will host the Colorado Junior State Championships in July. Starting this Sunday, February 4-March 25 2007 at The Wynkoop will begin a 9-ball juniors league. Eight-week session of pool for kid's ages 9-19. The kids will accumulate points and the top winners will receive educational savings bonds to help with school supplies or funding. $7.00 per junior per week and the house will match the pot.
