Rakin wins second straight WWR Tour Stop

Rakin wins second straight WWR Tour Stop

The Western Women's Regional Tour held their second stop of the new season at the California Billiard Club in Mountain View, California with a field of 38 players competing in a Coors Light WPBA Nationals Qualifier.

Michelle Rakin had won last month's stop on the tour, but she was derailed early by Tina Pawloski. Pawloski would go on to capure the hot-seat with a win over Helen Gaughran.

Rakin was undeterred by the detour through the B-Side of the board, as she made her way to the semi-finals against Helen Gaughran. A 7-2 win over Gaughran sent Rakin into the true double elimination finals against Pawloski.

Rakin notched the first win quickly at 7-3, but the second set was much more competitive with both players playing great 9-Ball. The score was tied at 5-5 and 6-6, before Rakin pocketed the final 9-ball to score her second straight tournament win of the new season.

Rakin won $420 for first, while Pawloski settled for $270 in second place prize money. Rakin also won the Nationals qualifier. Gaughran and Deby Welfringer filled out the top four spots.

The Western Women's Regional Tour will be at The Broken Rack in Emeryville California on September 20th - 21st for their next event.
