World Pool Masters Semis Set

Rodney Morris

The final four competitors for the 888.com World Pool Masters are now set.

Saturday's early qualifier Thomas Engert will face European star Raj Hundal and American Rodney Morris will face former World Champion Alex Pagulayan.

Hundal qualified for the semi-finals by taking advantage of a very unusual break in his match against Roman Hybler. Hybler led the match 6-2, but watched Hundal claw back to get within one game at 6-5. Hybler was running out for a 7-5 lead, when he fired an 8-ball into the pocket and it went in and bounced back out. That unlikely break was all Hundal needed to keep his opponent in his seat and run out the set.

Morris and Pagulayan both qualified for their spots in the semi-finals by winning hill-hill matches early on Sunday. Morris struggled early, but pulled ahead late in his match against Alex Lely. Pagulayan won a back-and-forth match with Marcus Chamat to earn his spot.

Complete results from all the matches can be found at the official World Pool Masters website.
