WPBL Resumes Season; Offers Viewing of Matches Online for Free

The World Professional Billiard League will resume play of its regular season on November 2, 2013. The league will continue on an amended schedule and matches will be played daily through November 9, 2013 at the WPBL Arena in Las Vegas, NV. In addition, all of the regular season matches will now be available for free viewing on the WPBL website at WPBLtv.com

The WPBL’s amended season will include a total of nine matches played by each team in the league. As a result of the shortened season, all teams will advance to the playoffs and will be seeded based off of statistical data. A total of 18 matches will be played during the remaining eight day schedule and matches will be taped in front of a live audience for later broadcast. At the end of regular season, 54 matches will have been played consisting of 432 games.

Beginning October 11, 2013 the WPBL will begin airing the entire season’s matches on the WPBL website www.WPBLtv.com. All of the league’s matches will be free of charge and a new match will be available to view every 48 hours beginning Oct. 11th. The first week of free viewing will include two matches that were never released before. Week one showdowns included Johnny Archer’s Atlanta Scorpions VS Earl Strickland’s New York Pride as well as Corey Deuel’s Miami Cruise VS Darren Appleton’s Philadelphia Aces. Once matches have been featured, they will move into an archived file which will still be available for fans to view for free as well.

During the past few months the players have remained supportive of the WPBL. Chicago Rocket’s Captain Rodney Morris stated that he was “exited to get back to playing…I love the game and I know the players look forward to playing Bonus Ball again”. He went on to say that he “wants to see the league become successful” and he will do his part to make it happen.

The WPBL would like to thank the fans and cue sport industry for their overwhelming support during the league’s hiatus. The entire upcoming schedule and free match viewing can be found on the WPBL website.
