Bogie's Billiards held it's first annual Open One Pocket and Nine Ball Tournament on June 23-26 in Houston, TX. Ninety-six entrants in three divisions vied for the honors in the total $3850 added event.
The $1000 added one pocket event kicked off on Thursday, June 23. Former US Open champion, Jeremy Jones, emerged as the winner from a very tough field with Charlie 'Hillbilly' Bryant placing second, Aaron Salinas, third, and Sylver Ochoa, fourth. Everyone had a great time over the two-day event!
The $2500 added open 9 ball began Saturday, June 25. The finals again came down to Jeremy coming off the one loss side and Hillbilly holding the hot seat. Jeremy had an early lead at 3-1 when Charlie caught a gear to lead 7-4 with the final score of 9-5 in Hillbilly's favor. Congratulations to Scott 'Bumpshape' Kephart for his third place finish after winning the Fast Eddie's Olhausen Tour stop in San Antonio earlier this month.
The ladies event was sponsored by Anne Mayes of AO Custom Cues of Houston and featured nineteen players. In the battle for the hot seat, Kim White of Houston was defeated by Kyu Yi of San Antonio, 7-3. Kim came off the one loss side to double dip Kyu in the finals, 7-4 and 5-3. Kyu played very impressively. Congratulations to Kim on another great victory!
The whole four days of the event was fun thanks to Jerry Williams, owner of Bogie's Billiards, John Rizzo (General Manager) and their entire staff for hosting a memorable event. Y'all made it look easy and we appreciate it!
