Dominguez wins at Billiard Palacade

Ernesto Dominguez

History looked as though it might repeat itself at The Billiard Palacade this past weekend!

Tony Chohan met Ernesto Dominguez in the hot seat match and just as in February, Chohan came out victorious. Lance Salazar of Santa Rosa came through the loser's bracket to face Dominguez in the semi-finals. Salazar had also fallen to Chohan in the winner's bracket, but it would be Dominguez who earned a rematch with 'T-Rex' Chohan.

Despite the fact that Chohan had been in the same position at the last Billiard Palacade stop, the house favorite Dominguez had the entire poolroom rooting for him! Dominguez took control early in the final race to 13 jumping out to a 3-0 lead. Chohan made a couple runs at catching up, but Dominguez led the entire match and gained momentum near the end to close out the final set 13-9.

It looked as though the players might go into overtime with additional sets on the side after the match, but they couldn't seem to agree on whether to race or play games ahead. Maybe next time - as the Pechauer tour will be heading back in November! Palacade owners Francisco and Mirna Murcia enjoy having the players for the tournament and really treat us like royalty. Our sincere thanks is given for their continued support.

Dominguez pocketed $1000 for his efforts, while Chohan settled for $700. Lance Salazar and Gilbert Arellano finished out the top 4 spots.

1st Ernesto Dominguez $1000
2nd Tony Chohan $700
3rd Lance Salazar $470
4th Glibert Arellano $300
5th George Michaels, Chris Koyama $180
