Earthquake quieted at US Open Day One

Ryan McCreesh can smile a little easier Monday night

As day one at the US Open winds down, Keith 'The Earthquake' McCready finds himself in a very difficult situation; already on the one-loss side.

McCready met up with Ryan McCreesh Monday night in the feature match and dropped an 11-8 decision. McCready led early in the match, but McCreesh came back to tie the score. Next it was McCreesh who held a lead at 8-6, but McCready came back with two wins to tie the score at 8-8. The deciding point came late in the match when McCreesh missed a very makeable 1-ball only to leave McCready hooked. McCready shot a great masse shot to make the 1-ball, but missed his next shot and allowed McCreesh to finish off that rack. McCreesh never looked back on his way to the match win.

McCready will now have a long uphill battle through the one-loss side in front of him if he wants to repeat or better his third place finish from last year.

Complete brackets are online from the event and are being updated multiple times daily.

Feature matches are available for online PPV each and every night at Billiard Club Network.
