Freezer forfeits out of US Open

Scott Frost

Day three of the 29th Annual US Open has witnessed the elimination of three top players.

In the biggest surprise of the day, 'The Freezer' Scott Frost forfeited his match against Wes Warren. Frost had been given bad directions to get to the Convention Center and arrived 10 minutes after the forfiet had been called.

In other afternoon matches, Bob Maidhof eliminated Santos Sambajon 11-10 and Shaun Wilkie eliminated Danny Medina 11-9. Maidhof will face Bruce Choyce in his next match, and Wilkie will take on Marty Sawinski.

Other players advancing in afternoon matches included Shawn Putnam, John Morton, Larry Nevel, Jimmy Reid and Pooky Rasmeloungon.

There is still no word as to which matches will be featured on the Billiard Club Network's Online PPV today, but matches will be shown at 7PM and 9PM EST. The ring game has been rescheduled for Thursday evening and Ralf Souquet has confirmed his entry in the event.

Complete brackets are online and are being updated multiple times a day. Also check out the online photo gallery from Carol Whiteside.
