Day two of the Great Southern Billiard Tour's Players 10-Ball Championship had matches staggered throughout the day in the ten-ball division at King Street Billiards in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  The seventy-four player field has started its descent to the championship round and for the most part, the titans continue to work their way deep into the charts, but several of them did fall eventually.

Some of the more interesting match-ups and results for the day included a dominating win by Shannon Daulton over Mike Davis 9-2, T.F. Whittington took down Corey Deuel 9-7, Scott Lewis bested Larry Nevel 9-7, John Morra blew out Charlie Bryant 9-4, tour regular and young up-and-comer Jared McGee sent tour sponsor Nick Varner west 9-4 and then Wade Crane 9-3, Tony Chohan ended up over Gabe Owen 9-7, and Beau Runningen made his move with a convincing victory over Virginia's Larry Kressel 9-3 and then snuck by Adam Smith at the end of the night 9-8.

The WPBA players have kept the guys on their toes as well, but are finding it tough to stay in the race with the exception of Sarah RouseyMelissa Little took her first two rounds against Mark Boros 9-4 and Cary Dunn 9-5, but her reward for those wins came in the form of the big dawg, Shane Van Boening, which she lost 9-3.  Belinda Calhoun received a Bye in the first round and took a hit in the second against Carlos Vieira 9-4 – next round, she will meet Leonardo Andam on the one-loss side.

Recent third place finisher at the latest WPBA stop Sarah Rousey is holding her own against the boys with a recent win over Robert Dale 9-5, next up was Sparky Ferrell.  After trailing Ferrell at one point in the initial stages of the match, Rousey mustered some girl-power and finished him off in the end 9-7, watch out Jonathan Pinegar, here she comes!

One top name, Stevie Moore, will not be in the running for title of ten-ball champion after all as he was notified of a family emergency and had to forfeit his matches – we wish him safe travels back home and our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family during this tough time.

Thursday ten-ball play will commence with the one-loss side starting at 12 pm, and continuing at 2 pm, 4 pm, 7 pm, 9 pm, and 11 pm.  The winner's side has a bit of an off day to rest with matches scheduled for 4 pm and 9 pm only.

Also, the $5,000 guaranteed added one-pocket event (limited to 64 players) will begin on Thursday, while the ten-ball event continues to play down the brackets.  Currently signed up to compete in the one-pocket division are names we have all heard of before:  Mike Davis, Shannon Daulton, Shane Van Boening, Nick Varner, Billy Incardona, Corey Deuel, Cliff Joyner, Jose Parica, Charlie Bryant, Larry Nevel, and Gabe Owens.  The one-pocket event will begin with a player's meeting at noon with the first round jumping off at 6 pm.
