NACPT Event at Kewaden Shores Casino Sees Josh Payne and Rich Fairbanks Frontrunners

The Native American Casino Pool tour made its first of two stops for the year at Kewadin Shores Casino in St. Ignace, Michigan December 12th-14th.  In spite of some inclement weather, the tournament got underway with a seventy-nine player mini nine-ball tournament on Friday evening.  The eventual winner was Bruce Wolf (rated a 9) who won hill/hill over Ken Depetro (rated a 7). Wolf won $400 of the $2280 purse, which ultimately paid the top sixteen places.

The main event of partner's eight ball event completed with the team Dead Weight
receiving the first prize of $1100. The team consistent of Josh Payne and Rich Fairbanks of Saginaw, Michigan. Second went to South of the Border with Lupe Rosas of Saginaw and Keith Carroll of Houghton, Michigan.  Third place finishers were Mt. Pleasant Lawn Care with owner Mike Zigmunt and teammate Lyle Western.

A total of fifty-nine teams participated in the event altogether. Another tournament at Kewadin Shores Casino is planned for April 3-5, 2009 with an anticipated field of over 100 teams.  Kewadin Shores also gave away five $100 cash drawings and a $1200 custom Jackson Cue which was won by Kris Osborne of Cadillac, Michigan.  Teams from Michigan, Canada, Wisconsin, Indiana and Ohio participated in the event.
