Rolon rolls through Big Apple

Alain Rolon

Day two of the Big Apple 9-Ball Classic is winding down at Master Billiards in Queens, NY.

Puerto Rican Star Alan Rolon remained undefeated with a 10-7 win over Danny Harriman on Friday night. Rolon will face Ralf Souquet on Saturday. Other great winners side matches include Efren Reyes vs Thomas Engert in a rematch of their meeting just two days ago at the International Challenge of Champions, and Danny Basavich vs Gabe Owen. Owen trailed in his match against Francisco Bustamante 7-5, but came back to win the last five games for the 10-7 win. Basavich was up early in his match against Niels Feijen 5-2, but saw that lead slip away as Feijen got to the hill at 9-8. Basavich won the last two games to remain unbeaten.

On the one loss side, New York favorite George San Souci continued his hot play with a 10-1 win over Teddy Garrahan. San Souci will face Sean Morgan next. Morgan was the player that sent San Souci's fellow New Yorker Tony Robles to the one-loss side. Other players fighting through the one loss side include Jose Parica, Frankie Hernandez, Bustamante, Tony Crosby, Santos Sambajon and Earl Strickland.

Online brackets are updated and we will have a photo gallery from Diana Hoppe on Saturday afternoon.
