Wathen takes his Poison

Jake Jacobsen, Jose Del Rio and Mark Wathen

Mark Wathen would go onto win his first Poison Amateur event Title at Strokers Pool Room in Palm Harbor Fl. Saturdays play would see Jake Jacobsen looking unstoppable as he would cruise his way through to Sundays final four with strong wins over Jim Sandaler, Chris Gentile, Jerry Troisi, Dan Whitten and then a win over Bobby Hibbits would see him in the final over the winners side where he would face Mark Wathen. Wathen route to the finals would see him defeat Jeremy Boling, John Stucky, Mark Smyrski and then George Saunders to set up a winner's side final with Jacobsen, Dan Whitten and Bobby Hibbits would make up the final four to come back Sunday.

Sunday would see Jacobsen start where he finished off with a bruising 7-2 win over Mark Wathen to take the hotseat. Dan Whitten would go onto defeat Bobby Hibbits on the one loss side with a 5-3 win to leave Hibbits in 4th place. The semi final would see Wathen taking on Whitten; Both players had losses to Jacobsen on the winners side so a shot at revenge was on the cards. Both players playing great pool would push this match all the way with Wathen coming out a 5-4 winner.

Wathen would have to play strong pool to try and take down Jacobsen and that he did coming out of the gates strong and never looking back to inflict a crushing 8-3 win over Jacobsen to take down his first Amateur Poison tour Title.

The Posion tour would like to thank Jose Del Rio, Strokers room owner for another 1st class event and all our great Sponsors that can be viewed at www.poisonpooltour.com
