Defending champion Johnny Archer and former World Champion Thorsten Hohmann both won marquee matches in the first round of the 2005 Brunswick Pro Players Championship on Thursday.
Archer scored a nail-biting hill-hill win over Shannon Daulton, while Hohmann has a somewhat easier time with Danny Basavich with a 10-6 win. Other players advancing in the round were Matt Krah, Bill Ferguson, Richard Broumpton, Luc Salvas, John Binion and Joey Korsiak.
An early result from the 2:00 PM round shows Troy Frank advancing over Alan Rolon 10-7.
