Delicious wins in Salisbury

Danny Basavich

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour was in action this weekend at Break Time Sports Grill & Pub in Salisbury, MD with a field of 20 strong players. What the field may have lacked in quantity, it definitely made up in quality with names like Karen Corr, Niels Feijen, Jose Parica, Frankie Hernandez and 'Kid Delicious' Danny Basavich in attendance.

The winners side came down to Parica and Basavich on Sunday with Basavich scoring a hard fought 9-8 win to capture the hot-seat.

If that hill-hill loss wasn't bad enough for Parica, he then lost 9-8 to Feijen on the one-loss side. This set up the final match between Basavich and Feijen.

Feijen came out strong by breaking and running the first two racks. The turning point of the match happened with Feijen leading 4-2. Basavich scratched on the break, leaving Feijen an open table. Feijen left himself hooked on the 3-ball and let Basavich back to the table. Basavich ran that rack out and then won the next three racks without letting Feijen back to the table. Basavich led 7-4 before Feijen had a real chance at the table. From there, the match went back and forth with Basavich scoring a 9-6 win.

Basavich pocketed $1400 for first, while Feijen settled for $900. Parica and Billy Cannon filled out the top four spots.

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Salt City Billiards in N Syracuse, NY on October 11th - 12th for their next event.
