The Quiet Man wins in Ol San Antone

Jui Lung Chen and James Davis Sr.

Fast Eddie's - Embassy Oaks in San Antonio, Texas was the site for the Fast Eddie's Olhausen 9 Ball Tour Sponsored by Schuler Legacy Cues eighth event of the year on August 13-14.

The monthly $1500 added Tour event attracted 73 players and as always, proved to be a very tough field.

The old analogy, "Walk softly and carry a big stick!" is exactly what Jui Lung Chen does. Chen, always smiling, just continues to improve more with each event with the behavior of a true gentleman.

Chen shared top billing with Sylver Ochoa, James Davis Sr., Robert Newkirk, Kenny Greer and Charlie Mora.

Finishing 9-12th were Kenny Greer, Rick Larque, Candy Ramos and Bobby Brown of San Antonio with the exception of Kenny who lives in Austin.

Arnie Flores and Manny Guerra of San Antonio shared the 7-8th slots. Both played well.

The 5-6th positions were claimed by Robert Newkirk and Charlie Mora. Both played very consistently.

San Antonio's own Albert Luna is another quiet gentleman who just loves to play. Albert gets great support from the homefront as his wife sweats every shot during each of his matches. He did very well by finishing in 4th place.

Sylver Ochoa of McAllen is the Tour's point leader and continues on a roll as he finished in the 3rd spot this weekend. It is fun to watch this young man's game improve each time he puts his cue together.

James 'Bastrop' Davis Sr. has been a 9 ball force in Texas for many years and again was consistent as ever. One should never overlook him as he again finished in 2nd place in an impressive fashion.

Jui Lung Chen of Dallas quietly handled Paul Blank, 9-4, Ted Dean, 9-5, Jon Rawlins, 9-2, Charlie Mora, 9-4, Robert Newkirk, 9-7, James Davis Sr. for the hot seat, 9-6, and in the finals against Bastrop, won 9-3.

Always unassuming and very polite, Chen continues to roll. He breaks well, shoots straight, banks well and has a fierce safety game. The young man surely does 'walk softly and carry a big stick'.

A special thanks to our sponsors, Olhausen Billiards and Schuler Legacy Cues. We can't imagine life without them.

Thanks to Tino Lopez of Teodoras Mini-Tacos. Another quiet man, but a champion!

Ron Geyer of The Custom Cue Connection and Jack Kompan and family of Mystick Cues, thank you for great support.

Also a big thanks to Fast Eddie's, "Big Lew", Tommy Wells, Summer Bowen, Danny and your staff for hosting a great event.
