Trevor Moore Breaks into Winner’s Circle in N. Florida

The summer season brought many new players to the 6th Fury North Florida tour stop held at Brown's Billiards in Holly Hill this weekend. It was a day of exciting 9-ball and tournament firsts as several new names stepped into the cash bracket.

Daytona player Matt Bauries ran through the field with four wins including a 7-4 victory over Robert Otto to get into the hot seat match. On the bottom of the winner's bracket, Trevor Moore stacked up wins including a decisive win over 3rd-placed Ray Pollanz. Bauries and Moore battled back and forth in the hot seat match but Bauries was the one to close it out at 7-5.

On the B-side Pollanz had just taken out Otto 5-0 and Bruce Choyce 5-1 and was all geared up for the semi final match up. Moore had the upper hand as he had beaten Pollanz 7-2 earlier in the day, but this time it wasn't so easy. But, at hill-hill Moore wasn't sweating as he put away the final nine to advance to the finals.

In the final rematch between Moore and Bauries, neither player could get a stronghold and you could say it was up the toss of the coin. Before the set, Moore had won the coin flip for break and in the alternate-break format, it was his turn at 8-8. A solid break and a wide open table put Moore on the fast track to taking home first and a $400 bonus.
